About Challenger:
Founded in 2009 by Satoru Taguchi, who has made a name for himself as a professional
skateboarder while also being active in the fashion scene for many years.
The concept is the “American Garage”— a place where cars, motorcycles, skateboards,
instruments, and other toys that make men feel like kids at heart lie around, inspiring
various cultures and heroes. The designers channel their own sensibilities and real-life
experiences to reflect this world in the products.
About Taguchi Satoru:
Born in Yokohama in 1975. Deeply influenced by the art culture of skateboarding in his
childhood, he formed the skate team METROPIA in 2000 and studied clothing design.
Currently, he works mainly as a designer for CHALLENGER and has been holding
exhibitions of his original bandana artwork, “BANDANALYZE,” in a tour format not
only in Japan but also overseas, showcasing designs he has created since the brand’s
early days.
